Some of you may have noticed that there has been quite a lull on this site. I apologize – I didn’t mean for it to happen, but there are some good reasons why.
I’ll start with the car accident. It happened at the beginning of the month – Good Friday, in fact – and it got my April off to an awkward start. I’m thankful that it wasn’t worse, and I’m also thankful that things seem to be going smoothly as far as getting back to normal. All the same, it has been a stressful experience. What accident isn’t?
In happier news, I’ve been finding a lot of jobs to apply for – and I’ve had several interviews. Given that I haven’t had many in-person interviews since the economy tanked, I’m pretty excited about hearing from a bunch of companies. However, that comes with its own stresses. What interview/job application process isn’t?
There was a time when I would have powered through all of this while keeping up with my other obligations. I would have worked all day, freelanced at night, declined attending social gatherings to give myself more time and set hobbies aside for the sake of everything else. This website would have been updated, but it wouldn’t have been done well. That would have added to the stress I was already feeling, and…well, you’re smart people. You know how it would go.
Instead, I decided that I needed to take care of myself. That meant putting some things aside for the sake of my own sanity. This site was one of those things, for better or for worse.
Fortunately, this time away has helped me recharge and learn a few things about myself. These things will help me write better articles, and that’s no bad thing. Thanks for hanging in there.

No point in taking care of everything else if you don’t take care of yourself! <3 you!
This is so true. You need to take care of yourself in order to be able to take care of everything else.
